Marshmallow Challenge

 The Marshmallow Challenge:

- The task: build the tallest free-standing structure out of spaghetti sticks and put the Marshmallow on top of the structure.

-Materials:

  1. 20 Sticks of spaghetti.
  2. One arms length of tape.
  3. One arms length of string.
  4. One Marshmallow.

- Steps that Delina and I have done:

  1. first we talked about what is the best for the structure for free standing, and we found that the most important is the base of the it..  Therefore, we taped four doubled sticks and then we taped them all together as pyramid shape.  We thought having a wide base will help the structure for free-standing.
  2. Then we added couple doubled sticks vertically on top of the base.
  3. we added some tapes to the bottom of the base sticks to help the structure to stand.
  4. The structure standed  by it self, but when we put the Marshmallow on top of the vertically sticks the structure failed.
  5. we tried to make the structure stands by making it shorter, and it standed for a few seconds but after that it failed.
  6. we ran out of time so we could't make any changes.
-If I have the chance to do the challenge I wouldn't follow the same method because it failed. what I will do is that I would follow the triangles method because I saw the other two teams have done  the triangles method and the strictures looked better than our structure. However, I have learned from this challenge that prototyping and iterating can help achieve success.  I'ts also shows that the success is dependent upon close collaboration between team members. However, the challenge was fun.
